Important: The HSAB does not provide direct adult safeguarding services.

The Safeguarding Service does not require a specific incident to trigger concerns; instead, your concerns can be based on a general level of risk. By notifying us in these situations, the safeguarding process can be utilized to prevent or reduce the likelihood of abuse occurring, especially when concerns are raised at the earliest opportunity. This approach allows for the reduction of risk factors.

Additionally, an individual’s behaviour or condition might place them at a higher risk of harm. For instance, a person’s mental health issues or learning disabilities could lead to behaviours that suggest a willingness to engage in situations that may pose a risk to their safety.
