Harrow Safeguarding Adult Board (HSAB) is committed to Learning and Development. HSAB has a strategy in place which includes multi-agency training courses.

Our training courses can be accessed Harrow Council’s ‘Support Services for Education’  (SS4E).

All persons wishing to access multi-agency training need to have a registered account on SS4E to access any training . To create an SS4E account, please click on ‘Sign-Up’ using the following link:

The development of this resource for HSAB is under review and the simplest way at the moment to find training and events of interest is to click on the training and events link just under the SS4E header. This will take you to all the courses available currently for children’s and adult’s.

Cranstoun: Domestic Abuse Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (DA MARAC)
Thursday 15 January, 10am-12pm |

DA MARAC is a meeting where agencies share information and develop safety plans for victims at the
highest risk of harm from domestic abuse. This will help you understand the purpose of MARAC, how
risk is assessed and what qualifies as high risk, when and how to make a referral, the local MARAC
process in Harrow, and the structure of the meeting including the roles involved.

Cranstoun: Recognise, Respond, Refer (Domestic Abuse)
Tuesday 20 January, 10am-12pm | MS Teams
An introductory course for staff who may encounter domestic abuse but don’t work directly with
survivors. Learn to recognise the signs and prevalence, approach the issue confidently, have
appropriate conversations, understand local services, and know how to make a referral.

AWRC: Harmful Practices (Lunch & Learn)
Tuesday 10 February, 12-12.30pm | MS Teams (Click here to join the training)
Harmful ‘traditional’ practices are types of abuse that have been committed for so long they are
considered part of accepted ‘cultural’ practice. Examples include forced marriage, female genital
mutilation (FGM), and honour-based abuse. This short session introduces what harmful practices
are, their impact on victims, and the safeguarding responsibilities of professionals. Learn how to
identify signs and respond appropriately.

Learn how to safely step in if you witness any form of public harassment. It’ll cover practical strategies
using the 5Ds (Distract, Delegate, Document, Delay, and Direct) to learn effective ways to support
others, and help to keep people safe if they find themselves in a distressing situation.

Forced marriage is when someone is pressured, coerced, or forced into marrying against their will,
often involving threats, emotional abuse or physical harm. This short session will explain what forced
marriage is, its impact on victims, and the legal and safeguarding responsibilities for professionals.

Brook: Understanding Masculinity and Tackling Misogyny
Thursday 16 April 2026, 3:30-5:30pm | online
Training in response to increasing concerns about the dangerous impact of online misogyny on young
people. This training prepares professionals: to understand gender related pressures among young
people; to know the nature and scale of online misogyny; and to identify and mitigate the push-pull
factors that attract young people towards extreme online ideologies. Includes practical tips and
activities to increase professionals’ confidence in raising an awareness and tackling misogyny.
